Cabin Interior Specialist

The Cabin Interior Specialist is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of cabin interior components and electronic and mechanical systems on business/VIP aircraft within a Part-145 approved maintenance organization. The role ensures all work is completed in accordance with OEM manuals, regulatory requirements, and company quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove, install, repair, and refurbish cabin components including seats, doors, tables, window shades, galley units, lavatories, cabinetry, panels, and trims.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic, mechanical and manual operating systems, including seat actuators, recline/sliding mechanisms, table systems, door mechanisms and shade assemblies.
  • Perform functional tests and operational checks following maintenance or installation activities to ensure proper system operation in accordance with manuals and work cards.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, vendor manuals, and 3D models.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, GCAA, and OEM requirements during all maintenance and installation activities.
  • Follow company procedures, work cards, Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), and vendor service manuals while maintaining accurate documentation of completed work.
  • Coordinate with engineering, avionics, quality, and project teams to support cabin modification and refurbishment projects.
  • Maintain tool control and comply with company safety procedures and housekeeping standards within the cabin work environment.
  • Support detailed cabin inspections, refurbishment projects, and rectification activities as required.
  • Identify and report unairworthy conditions in accordance with company and regulatory procedures.
  • Provide support to other departments when required during high workload periods or operational requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in Aircraft Interiors, Aircraft Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Familiarity with Part-145 regulations and OEM maintenance documentation.
  • Training related to aircraft cabin interiors, refurbishment, or electromechanical systems is preferred.
  • FAA A&P certificate or equivalent, or experience working under a Part‑145 Repair Station is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on business/VIP jet cabin interiors or within an equivalent MRO/completions environment.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing seats, tables, doors, shades, and lighting systems.
  • Experience working within a Part-145 approved maintenance organization is preferred.
  • Exposure to FAA, EASA, and/or GCAA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with VIP completions, refurbishments, or cabin interior workshops is an advantage.
  • Experience with specific OEMs (Gulfstream, Bombardier, Dassault, Airbus/BBJ, Boeing BBJ) or completions houses is considered a plus.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and OEM/vendor maintenance manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills related to cabin interior systems and components.
  • Strong hand tool, power tool, and bench skills.
  • Good understanding of aircraft cabin interior installation and maintenance practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in line and hangar environments and on shifts when required.
