Head of Airworthiness

We are seeking a Head of Airworthiness to lead our airworthiness and certification activities under our existing GCAA Part 21 DOA approval.

Our current approval scope covers minor changes and minor repairs related to Cabin Interiors and Structures. We are now looking to expand both our organizational capabilities and regulatory approvals through:

  • Obtaining EASA Part 21J approval
  • Pursuing future scope extensions with both GCAA and EASA

The ideal candidate will bring strong regulatory and certification experience, with the ability to lead authority coordination, support compliance activities, and contribute to the growth and development of our engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all airworthiness and certification activities within the organization’s DOA framework.
  • Manage and maintain compliance with GCAA Part 21 requirements and existing DOA privileges.
  • Lead the EASA Part 21J approval application process and coordinate directly with regulatory authorities.
  • Manage future scope extension activities with both GCAA and EASA.
  • Act as the focal point for GCAA, EASA, and internal audits, authority inspections, and technical assessments.
  • Oversee certification activities related to Minor Changes and Minor Repairs.
  • Support aircraft modification projects involving cabin interiors, structures, and future electrical systems capabilities.
  • Mentor and develop the engineering and airworthiness team in line with organizational growth objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in airworthiness or DOA environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GCAA and/or EASA Part 21 regulations and certification processes.
  • Experience with aircraft modification projects (cabin interiors, structures, or electrical systems); experience in electrical systems is considered an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating with aviation authorities and managing audits or approval activities.
  • Strong understanding of certification documentation and compliance processes.
  • Relevant training or certifications in areas such as Cabin Safety, Flammability, CS-25, or EASA/GCAA Part 21 regulations are considered an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
